What do you do if you need to make an important call and your mobile phone's battery loses its charge the same time your power goes out in your home? Landline home phones do not require electricity, so calls can be placed or received to family and friends with no delay and with clear reception.
Having a home phone can be more reliable during and after natural disasters. During times of emergency, cell towers have a limited call capacity. But with a reliable home phone, you know you can dial out and receive calls any day and any time with less of a chance of dropped calls or bad connections.
Many security systems require a landline, because landline monitoring is by far the most reliable method of sending your alarm's signal.

If you've grown weary of annoying calls or unwanted telemarketing calls, CentraCom Interactive has great news! Our Telemarketer Call Screening feature has been enhanced to give customers even more comprehensive call screening options. This feature is now known as Smart Telemarketer Shield, and it effectively screens telemarketing and other unwanted calls. A quick overview is listed below.
Telemarketer Screening:
With this service, all calls will be screened with the exception of local and local wireless calls. Other callers will hear an announcement. This service will effectively screen telemarketers, because they should not press "1" to connect. You do not have to activate anything for telemarketer call screening to work.
Manually Add Numbers to Your "Known Caller" List:
You can manually add numbers to your Known Caller List by dialing *95 to access the service and then follow the voice prompts to add the numbers. For example: If your parents and your siblings live out of state, you can add their numbers to your known number list and they will never hear the telemarketer announcement.
If the caller has a private number, he or she will receive a message. The message does inform the caller that his or her caller ID information will be revealed.
Adding a Number to Your "Blocked Number" List:
If someone calls you and you do not want him or her to be able to call you again, you can add the caller's number to your Blocked Number list. After hanging up, immediately pick up the phone and dial *96 to add that caller to the list. Also, you can dial *95 and follow the voice prompts to add numbers to your Blocked Number list. This feature works the same as our Selective Call Rejection.
Removing a Number from your Private Blocked Number list:
If you decide that calls should no longer be blocked from a specific number, you can remove a number from your Private Blocked Number list. Dial *95 to access the service and follow the voice prompts.
Selective Call Forwarding ensures that specific calls will reach you when you're away from home or the office. You are able to program up to ten specific directory numbers to be forwarded.
How to use
To activate, dial *63.
To deactivate, dial *83.
Selective Call Acceptance stores up to ten directory numbers from which you will accept calls. An incoming call from a directory number not on your list will receive a message stating that you're not accepting calls right now.
A visible notification on your phone that you have messages waiting. Your phone must be equipped with the message indicator light and the feature must be activated on your telephone line.
This service allows you to have a second telephone number assigned to your existing line. It can be used by any customer who wants to have some of the advantages of a second line at a smaller cost. All incoming calls on the Teen Line number will have two short rings, so the customer can distinguish which line is being called. If you have call waiting and are on a call, you will hear two short beeps if the incoming call is on the teen line number.
You will be alerted of an incoming call by a brief tone. You will be able to see the name and number of the calling party on your Caller ID box or phone.
Caller ID identifies the number of the calling party. After your phone rings once, the caller's number appears on the display. You can then decide if you want to answer or not. The date and time of the incoming call is also displayed.
How to use
While you are on the phone, Call Waiting notifies you when another caller is trying to reach you. By simply pressing on the switch hook, you can place one caller on hold and speak to the second caller.
How to use
To Cancel Call Waiting

AlwaysHome™ enables a caller to dial just one number to reach you, at up to 3 different phones. It's like having only one phone number. So where you are on the road or out with the family, you can be assured that you will not miss any calls when and where you want to be reached.
Don't know where you'll be?
When you can't afford to miss a call - AlwaysHome™ is the Calling Feature that tracks you down faster than any other "follow-me" service. AlwaysHome™ is the perfect feature for those who must be accessible and can not afford to have their calls go to voice mail.
AlwaysHome™ enables a caller to dial just one number to reach you, at up to 3 different phones. It lets you take your calls wherever you'll be, whether it's the office, at home, or from your mobile phone.
It's like having only one phone number, so you will simplify calling for your clients while still being able to keep some contact numbers private. Being easily accessible through one phone number could mean the difference between missing an opportunity and saving the day for a client - or someone close to you.
AlwaysHome™ can be modified from a Touch Tone phone. So whether you are on vacation, on the road or just out with family in the backyard you can make sure your calls reach you, when and where you want to be reached.
User Guide
Dial *99 from your home (PILOT) phone to access the main menu for setup and maintenance of your AlwaysHome calling feature. You can program up to 3 numbers and may add or remove numbres from your list at any time.
Automatic Recall lets you dial the last incoming call you received whether or not you answered the phone. When you activate Automatic Recall, the system tells you the directory number of the last incoming call and then gives you the choice of continuing the recall or ending the recall. If you recall and the line is busy, Automatic Recall will keep trying the number for up to 30 minutes.
How to use
Automatic Callback works like an enhanced redial button. If the line you're trying to reach is busy, the Automatic Callback keeps trying the number for up to 30 minutes. Once both lines are idle, you will hear a special ring. When you pick up the phone, the system will ring the party you're trying to reach.
