CentraCom Employees Spend Day Giving Back in Mona

Why Your Small Business Needs Email Marketing

MONA, Utah — Nearly 40 CentraCom employees traded their desks, service vehicles, and daily responsibilities for work gloves recently as they gathered in Mona for the company's annual Employee Community Service Project.

Employees from every department across the company participated, including technicians, customer service representatives, office staff, equipment operators, department managers, and executive leadership. Working side by side, the group completed a variety of projects identified by Mona City leaders to help improve public spaces throughout the community.

Throughout the day, volunteers painted park bleachers, removed an aging baseball backstop, cleaned city property, collected trash from key areas, and tackled several beautification projects around town. CentraCom's equipment operators continued working beyond the main volunteer event, hauling more than 11 loads of dirt, scrap materials, and debris to the landfill.

The service project was coordinated with the assistance of Mayor Troy Painter and the Mona City Council, who identified projects where volunteer efforts could make a meaningful impact.

The day concluded with a community barbecue at the Mona Community Center, providing residents and CentraCom employees an opportunity to visit and get to know one another. During the event, CentraCom also presented its Community Impact Award to Helen Neilson Durull in recognition of her contributions and service to the Mona community.

“Each year, our employees take a day away from their regular duties to give back to the communities we call home,” said Faylyn Warnick, Community Development Director for CentraCom. “The projects aren't always glamorous, but they're important. Small towns often operate with limited budgets and manpower, so having 40 people show up ready to work can make a tremendous difference. What would cost a city significant time and resources can often be accomplished in just a few hours through sheer numbers, hard work, and a willingness to help. That's one of the things I love most about CentraCom. No matter their position, our employees are willing to roll up their sleeves and serve. I'm proud to work for a company that places such a high value on community.”

CentraCom has organized employee service projects yearly in communities throughout its service area for decades as part of its commitment to strengthening the places where its employees and customers live and work.
