CentraCom announces the winners of five $1250 scholarships to Snow College and two $500 scholarships. We received many applications from highly qualified candidates from each of our service areas.
Madisyn Allred
Madisyn is currently a student at North Sanpete High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.82. She participates as a member of the volleyball team. She is the school's Computer Technology Sterling Scholar. She is also a member of the school’s CyberCorps, which is a group of students that help to solve technological problems in the school. She served on the Spring City Youth City Council as Mayor Pro Tem. She has organized several community events including book drives, youth summer skills camp for learning cooking, sewing and artistic experimentation.
Madisyn plans to attend Snow College and to obtain a degree in computer science. Her choice of attending Snow College will increase the scholarship by $750 for a total value of $1,250.
Allyssa Ericksen
Allyssa is currently a student at North Sanpete High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.99. She is the school's Social Science Sterling Scholar. She also participates as a member of the choir, volleyball and swim teams. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She serves her community by volunteering at the Fairview Pioneer Museum. She served as Miss Fairview 1st Attendant helped with many community activities during Pioneer Days 24th of July celebrations.
Allyssa plans to attend Snow College and study library science. She wants to inspire children to read. Her choice of attending Snow College will increase the scholarship by $750 for a total value of $1,250.
Melayna Gillins
Melayna is currently a student at North Sanpete High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.74. She is a member of the Softball team and a member of the National Honor Society. She is an active member of the community and serves by mentoring the youth in the softball camps and as an umpire for the city youth softball games.
Olivia plans to attend and play softball at Colby Community College in Colby, KS and to obtain a degree in physical therapy.
Katherine Harmston
Katherine is currently a student at Manti High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.99. She is an Academic All-State for MHS and was awarded Girls State Auditor. She is very involved in leadership with her community. She participated as a teacher in the summer reading program at the Manti Library and volunteered to read with the children at the Ephraim Elementary School. She has helped organize and run Manti Ambulance Associations dinners and fundraisers.
Katherine plans to attend Snow College and to obtain a degree in science and continue her education in nursing. Her choice of attending Snow College will increase the scholarship by $750 for a total value of $1,250.
Hunter Holden
Hunter is currently a student at Juab High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.90. She has served her school as Jr. Class V.P., Yearbook Editor. She is a member of the softball and track and field teams. She enjoys serving the community through service to the elderly. She has worked on several service projects by escorting the elderly around the city carnivals and fairs. She enjoys lifting people around her and helping them feel better about themselves.
Hunter plans to attend Snow College and to obtain a degree in psychology. Her choice of attending Snow College will increase the scholarship by $750 for a total value of $1,250.
Taeya Owen
Taeya is currently a student at Millard High School. She has maintained a GPA of 3.71. She attended Girls State. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She is involved with many schools clubs including STEM (girls in computing), Math and Science. She is an active member of the community and spends time assisting American Legion and Veterans. She has served by building homes for individuals as part of Humanitarian Experience for youth.
Taeya plans to attend Utah State University and to obtain a degree in Physical Therapy.
Cooper Parry
Cooper is currently a student at Manti High School. He has maintained a GPA of 3.95. He is a Football Team Captain and a member of the track and field teams. He is an active member of the community and spends time assisting the elderly through service at their homes and assisted living homes.
Cooper plans to attend Snow College and to obtain a degree in business management. His choice of attending Snow College will increase the scholarship by $750 for a total value of $1,250.
