Each year CentraCom opens up an opportunity for High School students within our service to apply for a scholarship. These scholarships are for $2,000 if the graduate plans to attend Snow College or $750 to use at the college of their choice. Each year we have many applications from highly qualified applicants. This year we have the winners are as follows:
Lacey Taylor — Millard High School
Lacey has carried a 4.0-grade point average for her high school years. She has been highly involved in her school as a Student Body Officer, Eagle Ambassador, and newspaper club. Lacey is someone that gives of herself and her time to help others. Being a humanitarian is important to her, so she spent time volunteering in the Dominican Republic. She plans on attending Snow College in the Fall.
Kyson Bosshardt — North Sevier High School
Kyson has set his standards high, achieving a 4.0-grade point average while being active in sports like football, golf, basketball, and baseball. He also received Academic All-State and Honor Society awards. Kyson was said to have a strong work ethic and is a great role model. Kyson will attend Snow College.
Carter Kent Hill — Gunnison Valley High School
Carter is an Eagle Scout. He has been on the high honor roll and lettered in basketball for all four years of high school. Carter has a plan for what he wants to do. He wants to get his degree and then continue to a technical college to work in a trade. He started that process by getting his welding and woodworking certification. Carter will attend Snow College.
Hope Shelley — North Sanpete High School
Hope is a Sterling Scholar. She stays very involved with Journalism, FCCLA, French Club, Golf, Basketball, HOPE Squad, National Honors Society, and FBLA. She keeps a high GPA, carries the title of Miss Mt. Pleasant, and works a part-time job! She said, “I have always loved learning, and it has always fascinated me how much the world has to offer.” Hope will attend Snow College.
Janessa Mae Bridges — Manti High School
Janessa has a 4.0 GPA for her high school career. She received Academic All-State awards for both Soccer and Swim. Janessa is the American Legion State Essay Winner. She has been involved in Soccer, Swim, Spanish Club and was a Peer Tutor. Janessa has volunteered as a member of the Ephraim Youth City Council, where she helped with many fundraisers and other programs. Janessa will be attending Snow College in the Fall.
Ryker Carter — West Wendover High School
Ryker is an Eagle Scout and has maintained high GPAs and ACT scores. Ryker is on the Gold Honor Roll, Student Council, a member of the National Honor Society, Football and Track teams, and a Civic Air Patrol member. Ryker is graduating with his Associate of Arts from Great Basin College. He will go to Utah State University in the Fall to complete his Bachelor’s degree.
