CentraCom Announces Purchase of NeboNet

CentraCom today announced the acquisition of NeboNet, a fixed wireless Internet Service Provider located in Nephi, Utah. No financial terms are being disclosed and the closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Eddie Cox, President of CentraCom said: “We are very pleased with the acquisition of NeboNet and look forward to expanding our service to these new areas.”

NeboNet offers high speed wireless Internet service in Juab County, Utah County and Box Elder County in Utah. CentraCom offers both fiber-connected wireless Internet service as well as fiber-connected cable modem and fiber-to-the-home service throughout Utah. CentraCom plans to expand and enhance the bandwidth capabilities of the NeboNet network with fiber-optic connected towers throughout the rural and under-served areas of Utah. “This acquisition is representative of the CentraCom mission to provide high-quality Internet services to enhance the economic advantages of the people and communities in which we serve”, stated Nate Palmer, Vice President, Marketing of CentraCom.

CentraCom is the DBA of Central Utah Telephone Inc. which was founded in 1903 as the first Independent rural telephone company in Utah. Today, Central Utah Telephone, Inc., including subsidiaries and affiliates, provide broadband data transport, telecommunications, video, and other services to significant portions of rural and metropolitan Utah.

During the transition of ownership from NeboNet to CentraCom, NeboNet customers will receive bills around the 5th of each month.

Also, the CentraCom Internet plans are different. CentraCom offers bandwidth plans with speeds up to 250 Mbps (depending on the area of service). CentraCom will phase out the current NeboNet plans by July 1, 2021. NeboNet customers are invited to select the CentraCom Internet plan that will best fit their needs at www.centracom.com/nebonet by June 15, 2021.
